Timelapse Video Tour of Yosemite National Park

Timelapse video tour of Yosemite National Park. You’ll see Tunnel view, Valley View, Cook’s Meadow, Bridalveil Falls, Nevada Falls, Mist Trail, El Capitan, Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, and much more. These were all taken during my recent trip to Yosemite in Mid-May 2010. Enjoy!

I have a question. All of the timelapse videos, how often do you take a picture. Cause in the videos the meteors(Fleeting light video) are a straight line. If you take a picture every second then the meteors would turn out as stars. Also in some videos you tend to zoom out. Do you move the camera every picture or is it a program? By the way I love your videos.

      Hi Nik,
Meteors move much faster and they will travel in a straight line. The movement you see with the stars is actually due to the rotation of the earth. Hence they move in an arc. Each frame in the video is a long 20 second exposure. So a 10 second video will take 2-3 hours of real time to capture on camera. In addition, I have the camera mounted on a motorized dolly. It moves very slowly but over the course of shooting 300 frames, it will move about 30 inches. Cheers,
      Henry
